Lisbon, Cascais & the Silver Coast

Climate by Month

Lisbon and the Cascais coast benefit from the moderating influence of the Atlantic, delivering a climate that is slightly cooler and wetter than the Algarve but outstanding for golf across the vast majority of the year.

Spring — April to June
64–75°F

The absolute finest period for Lisbon golf. Long days, outstanding course conditions, and the city at its most beautiful. Garmany recommends these months without reservation.

Summer — July & August
79–84°F

Warmer and drier than spring. Early morning tee times recommended. The city is energetic and beautiful, and the Cascais coast is particularly enjoyable.

Autumn — September & October
70–77°F

Equal to spring in quality. Outstanding conditions and the Sintra-Cascais landscape at its most remarkable. One of the finest times of year to visit.

Winter — November to March
55–63°F

Mild by northern European standards. Some rain in December and January. Golf is entirely viable, and the courses are quiet and attractively priced.

Comporta Golf Weather

Climate by Month

Comporta follows a similar pattern to Lisbon but with a slightly warmer, drier character in summer. The beach club experience is at its finest from June through September, with August representing the peak of the destination's social energy. For golf-first Guests who prefer cooler temperatures on the course, May and October are outstanding choices — excellent conditions, quieter courses, and Comporta at its most beautifully peaceful.

Porto & the Douro Valley

Climate by Month

Porto is the wettest of Portugal's main golf regions, with a more Atlantic-influenced climate than the south. Its finest months — April through June and September through October — deliver outstanding conditions for combining Estela Golf Club with a Douro Valley Experience. Summer in Porto averages 75 to 81 degrees Fahrenheit. The autumn harvest season in the Douro Valley, typically September and October, is the most extraordinary time to combine Porto golf with a full valley Experience — and one of the most compelling reasons to visit the north of Portugal.
